Ramu and Letha were bummed when they watched their cherry tree slowly wither to the ground.  They were quite pleased to find out that they would still be able to enjoy it in its new form. When they mentioned that they had been wanting to replace their old table on their deck, it was the perfect opportunity to create a functional piece that displayed the beauty of tree as they wished to remember it.
